You drive on the left side of the road.

Examples by Country Drive System Countries
LHD (Drive on the right) ???????? Germany, ???????? France, ???????? USA, ???????? Canada, ???????? China, ???????? Saudi Arabia, ???????? Ethiopia ...

RHD (Drive on the left) ???????? UK, ???????? Japan, ???????? India, ???????? Kenya, ???????? South Africa, ???????? Australia, ???????? Tanzania ⚙️

Why it matters
Road safety & visibility: The driver should sit on the side nearest the road’s center for better visibility when overtaking.
Vehicle import/export regulations: Many countries ban or restrict cars with the “wrong-hand drive” system (e.g., RHD cars cannot be registered in Germany).

Steering & controls: Most mechanical parts are mirrored — pedals are in the same order (Clutch–Brake–Accelerator), but dashboards, gear shifts,
and mirrors are reversed.

???? Conversion between LHD and RHD Technically possible, but: It’s costly and complex — involves changing the steering column,

dashboard, wiring, and pedals. In some countries (e.g. EU, U.S.), converted cars may not pass safety inspections or be difficult to insure. ✅

Quick Summary LHD = Left-hand drive = Drive on right side of road. RHD = Right-hand drive = Drive on left side of road. Choice depends on the country’s traffic system.
